Sodium Bicarbonate is food grade material, and is a quick dissolving particle.
The presence of sodium bicarbonate in your pool water as alkalinity, assists in pH control and consequently the effectiveness of your chlorine.
Total alkalinity should be maintained in the range of 80-120mg/L.
